In the Lost Isles of Sayo, there were many samurai for hire like Hedo Taigen. These merchants of death were willing to fight for either side in the Great War if the price was right. They were used to reinforce armies without recruiting non-trained populations. Hedo understood this continual need for skilled fighters and made enough to coat his sword in gold from the shoguns. After accumulating quite a wealth Hedo decided it was time to leave Sayo before someone came after him. Setting sail aboard a fishing vessel to remain low profile, he traveled many miles before landing on the coast of Phyrras. Remembering the craft his father did all his life, Hedo decided to set up shop near Phyrra, becoming an armorsmith. He believed in addition to a samurai's trusted sword, if his armor failed him, even the best sword could not win in battle. Before any suit of armor came out of his shop, he first tried it out in the arena to see how his work held up.
