"No one remembers the king that once wielded this mace, but the story remains. He led a small force of his most powerful knights deep underground in search of a dragon that had been terrorizing his land. He bravely lead the way holding a magical torch in front of him. The dragon fell upon the group and with a breath of magical frost froze them and their weapons. Somehow, the torch survived although its flame was extinguished and when the flame was rekindled the king and his men were released from the dragon's icy grip. The king and his men valiantly attacked the dragon, but their frozen weapons shattered. The king, out of necessity, used the torch as a mace. Fortunately for the king and his men the dragon was weak and the torch had previously unknown magical properties which allowed it to absorb the life force of the dragon and gain legendary power."
