"...stood over the body of his fallen comrade a moment of victory eclipsed only by grief. He bent to gather the remains, exited the arena & set out alone to seek counsel from the Black Mage of Alren. Having reached the Mage, Dresden was informed of an ancient burial grounds famous amongst the Necromancers for its ability to transform ethereal memory into corporeal form. It was there -- upon a great stone altar hidden within the depths of the Norathii in a charred clearing beset on all sides by towering alders -- that Minmae's body found it's final resting place. It was there that fate revealed a different plan. The first indication was a soft rustle that emerged from the underbrush. Dresden placed his back to the altar and collected his thoughts for what he assumed would be a simple conversation with the Norathii Rangers. The second indication was a piercing & savage howl that disturbed & scattered a flock of lingering vultures. The first of the savages charged, leaping upon the altar he gnashed his jagged teeth & dug them into Minmae's remains drawing back with the motions & lust of an animal feeding. A nearby alder branch the only available weapon, Dresden retrieved it & in a single swift motion spilled the blood of the savage on the remains of his fallen ally. A swirling of dark energy descended from the clouds: the ritual was complete. Minmae's ethereal form lifted from the altar shattering it's physical counterpart; she stood & assessed the situation. The savages charged but were no match; they fell within that clearing, their only comfort the emerging sound of the vultures returning to drain what little life remained in them. Dresden's last act before retreating from the forest was to dig out, among the bodies, that of the savage chief & impale his lifeless body upon the alder branch which proved to be their ruin."
