Kalvarius, formerly known as Kal was just a lowly mage until he had an encounter with something that would change his life forever. He had stumbled across a magic crystal that granted the one using it the power to become anything they could imagine. In the beginning Kal just imagined turning into birds, cats and other small animals. Then something inside him tempted him to imagine something so horrific, the pure sight of this beast would cause people to run in fear. So he delved deep inside his mind and imaged such an abomination. Realizing the magnitude of this transformation, he came to see the usefulness this would have in the arena. If he could demoralize his opponents so much that the battle would become effortless.
