A former field surgeon in the Phyrran Nightwatch, Meri Nilso led her life saving lives, not taking them. But ever since her son was taken from her, she has left that former duty and pursued an interest in combat. She hopes to one day find her kidnapped son. She believes that dueling in the Arena will lead to clues regarding who took her soon. Knowing that thousands of people visit and participate in the Duelist Arena, she feels that someone must know something. This is what she is betting on and drives her to duel as many as it takes to get that information. Once she finds out who took her son, they can only pray for a quick death. She may just twist the blade in them, causing agony. She feels that is deserved, for that is what she has felt for so many years without her son.
