Quests
The quest "Orcs are Fodder" told me to fight Archnar, where is he?
To find Archnar, you will first need to enter the Arena. When you are there, you will see two pull down menus labeled "Avatar Level" change the first one to 1 and the second one to 3. Then beneath that in the "Avatar Name" box type in: Archnar and hit the Search button. This will bring up Archnar in the Arena; click on his name and you will be taken to his profile page.
I know I finished the quest "What's That in Your Pocket", why didn't it say it was completed?
In order to finish this quest you must take an unopened pack back to the Quest Page, so once you have purchased a pack, return to the "What's That In Your Pocket" quest page before opening that pack.
I think I have finished a quest but it's still on my Quest page, why?
You need to visit your Quest page again, and then select that Quest, to make sure that all Objectives have been completed. Once you have done this, the quest will register as Complete.
I completed a quest but haven't received my reward yet, why?
Occasionally it takes a little longer than one would expect to receive an item from a quest. It should arrive, so be patient. If a sufficient period of time has passed and you've yet to receive your reward, please contact support@duels.com and we will make sure everything is working properly.
Gameplay
How do I get gold?
There are a number of ways to gain gold in this game. The most common and, quite possibly, the most effective is to simply Skirmish and Duel as many people as you can and use the tokens you are awarded to purchase packs. When you open a pack there will be gold, an item and 2 scrolls inside. You can then take the item you found in your pack and sell it in the market for additional gold.
What is the best way to get tokens?
The best & most effective way to get tokens is to Skirmish all players, online & offline. To Skirmish offline players, click on "Show" next to the Offline option in the Arena, then click the Path column twice to sort all players by Path; this will list only players who are currently specced and ready to be Skirmished. There is a daily limit on the amount of skirmishing you can do.
What do Gems do?
Currently there is no implemented function for gems. Some people choose to save them as investments, others sell them to free up inventory space. At this time, it is anyone's guess as to when gems will be useful & what their use will be when that happens. This question has reached a pop culture level in Duels.
Gems are a long-term lottery ticket. At any moment they could be made to do anything without any warning. You just don't know. So, you have a choice: do you hold on to them and take up valuable inventory space until that one fabled day, or do you sell them off for the highest price you can get at the time? It's up to you

When will the Duels Core Set I (or Noble I) packs restock?
These packs are completely sold out and will not be restocked so there is no way that they can be purchased either with tokens or Noblestones. The only way to acquire items from these sets is through trading with other players.
Why does my Loadout power and Avatar Power not match?
There are skills called "Masteries" that give discounts on certain types of equipment. These include Weapons of Stealth, the Wand/Staff Masteries, and the Edged/Blunt Weapons Skills. The "Weapons of Stealth" skill, for example, reduces the power of Claws & Daggers by 25%; by using this skill or a similar one a player is able to equip a weapon that would normally have a power rating greater than the power limit available to them at their level. Your loadout power shows you the power rating of your build after you apply your Mastery skill points. Your avatar power rating shows the power of your build before the skill points were calculated, or what that particular build would normally rate at if you had not invested in the skill(s).
If you have 5/5 in Blunt, then your power cost for blunt weapons, like the mace, will automatically subtract 25% of the item's power cost. You will not see the deduction in your loadout, it's already taken away. So, if you purchase a mace that has a power rating of 100, with your 5/5 in Blunt the power rating is lowered to 75. You will never see your mace displayed in your loadout at 100, only 75. But, the full 100 will be calculated in your avatar's total power rating (Which is displayed in the top left panel of your Duels window).
This can be used in two ways- you can either equip a higher-powered blunt weapon for a lesser cost to your power rating, or use another item with a higher-powered rating that kind of soaks up some of that 25% that you could not use otherwise.
When viewing your avatar's reported power, sometimes the first number listed is higher than the latter. The first is not a set number. That means that the particular build you have created is worth more than your standard power rating for your particular level. For example, if you level has a max power of 130, but the skills you have invested in can allow you to exceed that number. This number can change with any loadout you create. If you use a higher-power blunt weapon and lower-powered armor, your power rating might be higher but your other stats will be affected.

How do some people have more power than me at the same level?
They are taking advantage of certain Skills that reduce the power rating for certain types of items. For more information, please read 'Why does my Loadout power and Avatar Power on the homepage not match?'
I am not able to view my loadout manager and/or my avatar creator, what should I do?
The avatar creator and loadout manager use the newest version of Flash, you may need to update your Flash in order to get it to properly load.

How do Pets work?
Pets are a Duelist's favorite companion! Not only do they add more personality to your avatar page, they also add important stats to your avatar in battle. Each breed has a special array of stats, so be sure to check every pet out to see what will help you the most. Additionally, players are now able to own multiple pets. Pets are able to be equipped to individual loadouts, like any other item in a player's inventory. Pets will be located in your inventory list when you open the loadout manager, so be sure to select a pet for every loadout!
Memberships
What is a Patron/Noble Membership?
Duels is a free game, but many players choose to purchase a Patron or Noble Membership to support the game. There are a number of benefits to purchasing the memberships such as bonuses when purchasing packs with Noblestones and also discounts on Scouting opponents. Memberships can be purchased from http://www.duels.com/store/memberships.
I purchased a membership, why are the extra inventory slots and membership icon only showing up on one avatar?
Though your entire account will enjoy many privileges from your membership, only the avatar that was used to purchase the membership will be considered a Member. The other avatars in your account will be able to share Challenge Coins and enjoy trading with the member avatar, but only your member avatar will receive the monthly member benefits, as well as the additional inventory slots and member icon.
How can I transfer my membership from one avatar to another?
There is currently no easy way to transfer memberships through Paypal. If you recently purchased the membership or have a lifetime Noble membership, we recommend contacting support@duels.com immediately. If you have had a Patron membership for a long time, or are paying monthly for a Noble membership, we recommend you canceling the membership subscription through Paypal and then starting a new one for your other avatar. If you have any questions about your membership, please contact support@duels.com.
How do I cancel a Duels membership?
You will need to cancel your subscription through Paypal. Detailed steps can be followed here:
https://www.paypal.com/helpcenter/main.jsp?cmd=_help&t=solutionTab&solutionId=11750
Once this is completed, your membership will no longer be active. If you purchased a Patron membership, or you are in the middle of your Noble monthly membership, you will continue to receive your membership perks (except for the member icon on your avatar) for the remainder of your payment term.

How do I delete my Avatar?
You can delete an avatar by accessing 'Your Avatars' link. After selecting the proper avatar, click the 'Delete Avatar' button. You will be asked to verify that this is what you want to do before deletion takes place.
I just deleted my avatar and can't use that name again. Why?
Even though you delete an avatar, that avatar will continue to be archived and unavailable to be used again. This is for the protection of the players, so that a copycat cannot come along and impersonate a deleted avatar. If you have accidentally deleted an avatar, please contact support@duels.com and we can re-activate it for you.
How many avatars can I create on my Challenge Games account?
On Duels, you are able to have ten active avatars at any time. You can delete avatars that you no longer use to free one of these ten slots up, but you will only be allowed to do this ten times, bringing your total avatar limit to twenty. Once you have created twenty avatars, you will no longer be allowed to create any more.
My page isn't loading properly/ Something seems wrong with my browser. How can I fix this?
Occasionally cookies get weird, the browser cache gets overzealous, etc. As a web-based game we can't control everything. We recommend you try the following:
CTRL-F5 - This forces a refresh in your browser and is often helpful. Clearing your cache - This can be accessed in most browsers by Clearing Private Data, Emptying Cache, etc.
This URL: http://www.duels.com/users/logout
This forces a logout and seems to fix a lot of issues when logins aren't working. This is especially helpful when the message boards and the game get out of whack.
If something still appears to not load properly, please check the Forums in Bugs and/or Support to see if a similar issue has recently been reported. If not, feel free to create a thread in the forum detailing the problem. You can also contact support@duels.com with details of the issue. Be sure to include if you are using a PC or Mac, which browser you are using (and what version) and how long you have noticed the problem.

Why can I challenge some NPCs at any level, but not all?
Most NPCs cannot be challenged if you are above or below their level by more than three levels. Some NPCs are unlocked for all levels of the game, though. These NPCs are required for players to complete quests. Some players choose to not accept or complete quests until they are of a higher level, and otherwise would be unable to complete the quest since the NPC is out of their level range.
I have clicked on the Chat button, but I am not able to get in to Chat. What can I do?
This problem could be caused by two issues.
1) "The window only loading the Duels logo, and nothing else."
Our chat runs on Flash, so you may need to update your Flash in order to have the chatroom load. You can check your Flash by going to this URL:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/
This will tell you your current version of Flash. From the table below that, you will be able to see if your computer has the newest version or not. You can download the new update for Flash for free from their Player Download Center. This will also work on other websites that utilize Flash.
2) "The chatroom is telling me that my user name and password are invalid."
In order to enter the chatroom, your computer needs to establish a connection with the chat server. If chat is particularly busy, with lots of people coming and going, it make take a few tries to establish a connection and enter chat. We recommend that you try refreshing the chat window a few times, until you are able to log in.
If this doesn't work, send an email at support@duels.com detailing the problem. Please include the browser you are using (Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) and if you are using your computer at home, work, school, etc. Some places have firewalls installed that can cause problems with our chat client.
