Origin
The drow community is protected from the parasitic invasion by the shield around their living area. As no more then one elf is ever outside the shield, it is impossible for the infection to sneak in.

While they enjoy watching the world tear itself apart, the drow do not wish for the singlemind to gain control of Phyrras. For this reason they have sided with the Elementals.
